Why?

I created this blog to show people what the water crisis is and how we can help. But the other reason that I created this blog was for a school project. We had to choose a problem that was wrong in the world and then we had to write a paper on the issue and create a media project. I made this blog.

Now you may be wondering, why am I telling you this? Well, this school year is almost over and I don't have to continue writing. I will continue to keep this blog open for people to see but unless people want me to keep writing blog posts I won't have weekly posts

If you want me to keep writing, just let me know by commenting below or emailing me at soccerdash13@gmail.com

Thanks always,
Willow

What Are The Consequences?

There are many effects of the lack of clean water, as water is the most important thing for humans. In other words, without water, we can't survive. Many people all over the world just have to take the water that they have. Some parents even know that their water is contaminated, but what choice do they have? Children are especially affected and every 19 seconds, a mother loses her child to a water-related disease.

Sad as this sounds, there are solutions! Some of these are newer ideas, like direct piping. But some of these ideas have been around for years, like the classic well. In decreasing the distance that people go to collect water, this would save people in Africa alone, 40 billion hours. This would give young girls a chance to get an education, older girls a chance to make a living and mothers a chance to raise a family. All of this, with a little help from us.

How You Can Help!!!

Donate- Many organizations take donations or help you start fundraising.

Organize- Get together a group of friends and make a lemonade stand, hold a bake sale. If you have a talent, use it!

Spread The Word- Talk to your parents, friends, teachers, classmates, neighbors. Talk to anyone that will stop and listen.

Remember- You may be young or old. Big or small. But if you want it bad enough...you can help!!!

Earthquake in Nepal

Hey everyone! I wanted to write a post on the earthquake in Nepal. Now, it may not seem like this topic has a lot to do with clean water, but it does. People in Nepal had their houses shattered and that means no clean water or toilets or sanitation.
I wanted to encourage everyone to go look for organizations that are trying to raise money for Nepal and the people there that need your support and help. They need all the extra money that you can spare! So please, go look and see what you can find. I have 3 links down below that will take you to places where you can donate or articles where you can learn more.

Water Aid
Nepal Earthquake Info

You don't have to donate much, even 5 or 10 dollars would put us closer to getting water and sanitation to those in Nepal who need it. Thank You!!!

Why Water?

Water is very important for human survival. Without water we can't survive. Many people have to take the best water that they can get in order to even have a chance at survival. Unfortunately 3.5 million people don't make it and 1.6 million of them are children, as younger people are especially vulnerable. We can help! Many organizations put together fundraisers and campaign to raise money so that people all over the world can have access to clean water. People have done some AMAZING things to raise money for clean water! I don't remember many of them but if you go to www.charitywater.org you can find out. You can help!
